Liam Israels
President
Liam is a fourth-year mechanical engineering student. He has internship experiences at the National Research Council of Canada, Tesla, and Innovia Technology. Liam is passionate about sustainability and a variety of green technologies. He is super excited to start WEGTC and offer a space for other like-minded Western students to learn and build green technologies! In his spare time, Liam enjoys playing hockey and exploring the outdoors.
Ruan Badenhorst
VP Finance and Operations
Ruan is entering his fifth and final year at Western as a Software Engineering and Ivey HBA dual degree student. He recently completed an internship at Colliers International, a real estate brokerage firm headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. Having previously worked in tech-focused private equity, he hopes to leverage his engineering background and interest in renewable energy as he pursues a career in real estate investment and development. Outside of work and school, Ruan enjoys playing the guitar, fitness, and spending time on a dock somewhere.
Ethan Milroy
VP DAC Design
Ethan is entering his fifth year at Western as a Mechanical Engineering and Ivey HBA dual degree student. He is currently completing a 14-month internship with Exactus Energy, a solar design company in Toronto. Ethan has hands-on experience in the field of renewable energy and will be looking to expand his knowledge of new and upcoming technology throughout his time with the club. Outside of academics Ethan likes to coach and play lacrosse, cook and bake.
Tagg Lee
VP Research
Tagg is a second-year electrical engineering student. He has experience working at RBC Global Asset Management and North Growth Management Ltd. Passionate about environmental sustainability, Tagg is excited to engage members in interesting projects. He hopes to pursue a future career that allows him to combine his interests in green technology, infrastructure, and finance. Outside of school, he enjoys running, strategy games and traveling.
Sherif Elmaghraby
VP Communications
Sherif is entering his fourth year of Mechanical Engineering. He has previously gotten involved in many Western Engineering clubs including WE Bots, WETT, and the UES council. Sherif is very passionate about leadership and accomplishment and looks forward to working towards our goal this year! In his spare time, he likes to cook, read, and pray.

VP Website Design
VP Website Design will be tasked with maintaining existing webpage design and hierarchy while quarterbacking the addition of new features, integrations. You will work closely with all VPs in order to keep information up to date and post any new materials as they are completed. Our hope is to fill this position with a student who is diligent in their updates, and also enthusiastic about making improvements to the website that will benefit future club members in the years to come.

Kierra is a fifth-year student studying Mechatronics Engineering and Ivey HBA. She is also pursuing Ivey’s Sustainability Certificate. Throughout her undergrad,
Kierra has sought out opportunities to empower the next generation of students through mentorship. As the Student Coordinator and the Engineering Team Lead for Leadership Academic Mentorship Program, she has run numerous events including an International Women’s Day event, review sessions for courses, as well as many student socials. She has spoken on a Women in Engineering panel and is a Big Sister to a first-year engineering student. In addition to mentorship, Kierra has a great passion for sustainability. Throughout her undergrad, she has presented in front of the Ministry of Environment, talked to several environmental city representatives and is involved with the Western Environment & Sustainability Network. Kierra is looking forward to contributing more to sustainability at Western through this club!
